Aztec Spins Slot Free Play
Aztec Spins
- Many features
- higher paying symbols
- The high volatility might be to high for some
- Lover than normal max bet
- RTP just under industry average
Released by Red Tiger and R7, Aztec Spins is a slot machine which offers the usual Aztec theme, there is no mystery there, and the graphics involved don’t change that much from everything else we’ve seen at other developers. There is no questioning the quality in this one though, it’s quite good, but that’s something typical for Red Tiger releases.
As symbols, you’re getting the Royals at first, properly drawn and decorated so that they will fit the theme, and then you move on to various Aztec inspired masks, idols and decorations, with the top paying position being held by a Golden Pyramid.
Developer of Aztec Spins
It’s Red Tiger that has released this game, which they’ve designed in collaboration with R7. The company is well known these days, a developer with a long list of excellent slot machines. They’ve been one of NetEnt’s companies since late 2019, when they were acquired.
How To Play It Aztec Spins
You don’t need to spend a lot of time setting up the bet, the value for the upcoming spin is selected directly, to cover the entire game area. $0.20 is the minimum bet that you can use, and $20 is the maximum one.
It’s a bigger area than typical, at 6×4 reels, but only 30 paylines are provided there, so the odds of getting something going are not great. Volatility aside, the game incorporates a lot of features, without being difficult to understand, and they only come through a single main bonus anyway. On the plus side, the 30 lines are capable of forming their wins both ways.
Special Features
The list of features that can trigger in Aztec Spins is fairly long, and yet the slot machine is quite boring for the most part. All its major features will come as a result of a single Aztec Wheel, which will spin when you get a 2×2 symbol on the reels 3 and 4. What this means, is that there is only one feature that can spice things up for you in the base game. The fact that there is a lot of variety for that feature is secondary, since it’s not going to be easy to trigger it and experience all those options.
The spin of the Wheel can get you stacking multipliers, locked symbols, free spins or cash prizes.
The locked symbols will add them to the reels 3 and 4, which they cover completely, after which they become sticky there. The others respin until you get a win out of them.
Another one that I liked, the stacking multiplier will boost your next win by 10x, whenever that may come. If additional stacking multipliers are obtained until that win triggers, then the values are added together. There is a limit though, at 30x for the multiplier, so that’s the most that a win can be improved by.
You can also trigger 12 free spins via the Aztec Wheel, during which there will be higher odds of the feature retriggering.
Maximum Payouts
The typical payout for a single line gets up to 360 coins to you, but the multipliers involved can boost those rewards tremendously. A top jackpot of up to 4,983x the stake is possible in this one. At the same time, it’s a slot with High volatility and a slightly below average 95.71% RTP, so it’s not all great.
Summary
Aztec Spins is not the most memorable game around, but it’s certainly not the standard slot machine that you expect to find either. I just wish that its base game was more exciting, it feels like there is too much waiting around for something to happen.
