Theme of The Game
A good story and an interesting design, that’s what I want to see in every top slot machine. Most of them don’t deliver on both fronts, if any. However, Banana Town manages that, and it’s thanks to Relax Gaming’s efforts that we’re getting something fun to look at. The mob-inspired story, with monkeys as main characters, is only one part of the equation. The 8-bit style graphics give it a retro look, which I appreciated.
Now, moving to the reels, we find on them four variants for the banana symbols, colored differently in each case. Five high value symbols follow, showing us the various mobsters, some of them more important than others.
Developer
Banana Town’s creator is Relax Gaming. The company has done a great job over the last couple of years, and they’ve amassed a collection of over 90 slot machines so far. The ones most appreciated include Temple Tumble Megaways, Money Train 3, and Wild Chapo.
How To Play It
Quite a few things have changed when it comes to betting options lately, and most slots give you just a total bet range to work with, without asking for the number of coins or their value. In this one, we spend between $0.10 and $50 for each spin.
It’s an interesting setup, with 6×5 reels and 30 symbols available. Getting paid here requires having 8 or more matching symbols, and they can land anywhere in view. The best rewards require at least 12 symbols.
Special Features
Getting a win is only the first step, and cascades will always follow. This gives you an extra chance to get paid, and the cascades only stop when you don’t get any new combinations formed.
One very interesting thing that happens in Banana Town, is the fact that each of the slot’s symbols comes with a multiplier. By forming winning combinations with each symbol, its own multiplier doubles in value. If the following cascades bring you more wins of that type, then you get to apply that multiplier to wins. There is a limit to how high a multiplier can go for a particular symbol, and it’s 64x.
Sometimes, you will notice that some of the symbols are getting higher multipliers, but this is a random event which can trigger at the start of a spin.
Ultimately, as with a lot of other slot machines, you want to get to its free spins. This is done in the typical manner, via 3 or more scatter symbols. Get the requirements right, and you receive 8 to 11 free spins. Each scatter that lands after that will give you 1 more spin.
You start with the triggering spin’s multiplier for each symbol, and the numbers go only up from there, they don’t reset.
Maximum Payouts
Banana Town falls in line with the rest of the many highly volatile slots that we’ve been seeing lately, and it pays 10,000x the stake. It’s a satisfying top prize, but you will need to work for it and get high multipliers to apply to your wins.
The RTP is set to 96.12%, which is what I’d want in a slot machine, so I’m satisfied there.
Summary
Banana Town is definitely interesting video slot. It has a good theme, fun graphics with a retro style, and a good mix of special features. All in all, it’s fun to play. Try this slot machine at these licensed Canadian casinos
