Bushi Sushi
Theme of The Game
If you’re a fan of Japanese food, and of sushi in particular, a slot machine like Bushi Sushi might be able to do something for you. It’s even borrowing elements from Japanese samurai, so we’re seeing a piece of sushi turned into a character and using a sword on the reels. It’s not the first time we’re seeing the sushi theme in a slot, but the samurai/Bushido inspiration is not as easy to find in these games.
It’s more of a comic book/cartoon-style design that they chose for the slot’s symbols, at least for the top paying ones, which show us the various types of sushi. Lower symbols still display the common Royals, so there is nothing interesting to see there. A Samurai Sushi is an expanding wild, and a Yin Yang sauce bowl is the scatter.
Developer
Bushi Sushi is a game that you might find listed under one of two names, either Microgaming, or Gold Coin Studios. It’s the latter that did the design for it, part of a partnership that they have with Microgaming, to deliver exclusive slot machines for the Quickfire platform. Hundreds of casinos get access to the games of this small supplier, thanks to this partnership.
How to Play The Bushi Sushi Slot Demo
There is quite a bit that goes on in the betting section. $300 is the highest that your wager can go, provided that you select up to 6 coins to use on each of the 10 lines, and denominations reach the maximum of $5. $0.10 is the lowest amount available for a wager.
Only 10 paylines are used, but the 5 reels allow combinations of 3+ symbols to form both ways. This means that it’s not obligatory for those symbols to land left to right, they can pay from right to left also.
Special Features
One of the major feature symbols in use, the Sushi character dressed as a samurai, will be the expanding wild that you can encounter on reels 2, 3 or 4. It’s possible to get several wilds at the same time, and if they’re next to each other, they unite to form a single image (up to 3×3 wild positions can show the warriors). You may use these substitutes whenever you’re forming winning combinations, and they’re part of all active lines.
Second, we have the Yin Yang-style symbol, colored in light green and red. It’s a scatter, as expected, and you may only get it once on each reel. Provided that there are 3, 4 or 5 on the reels, the game triggers 10 to 20 free spins. There is a limitation in place though, which other slots don’t have, and that would be the requirement for the scatters to land on consecutive reels, starting from either side. Up to 10x the stake is also paid, for up to 5 symbols.
Maximum Payouts
40x the stake per line, that’s the most that a winning combination offers, so with the 10 lines working together, you could get 400x the stake (perhaps 800x, if it pays both ways). It’s not a game with high volatility, more of a low-medium, so it’s designed for the casual player. RTP being at 96.06%, we know that long-term it’s expected to be a fair slot machine (for the type of game that it is).
Summary
Bushi Sushi might not have the best graphics around, or unique features for you to explore, but it’s got enough to offer to a casual player, which is not quite bored yet of getting the same free spins and wilds from every slot machine.
