Theme of The Game
Though some developers will make an effort, and design a slot machine with a brand new theme, Egyptian Tombs is not that type of release. Taking us back to Ancient Egypt, the game adds to the reels all the usual images of popular deities and animals that represent them, along with a picture of Cleopatra, famous queen from a few thousand years ago. It’s a bigger game area, and the symbols are small, well enough designed, but they don’t bring anything truly new, and there are other slots that cover this theme even better.
If you’re looking at the list of symbols, the least impressive ones will show us images of Royals, all of them with a similar design, stone-like and with bland backgrounds. The top symbols show us the Ankh, Bastet, Horus, Cleopatra, plus features via the Eye of Ra Wild, and the Scarab scatter.
Developer
Snowborn Games worked on Egyptian Tombs, but the game is an exclusive for Microgaming, and will often be mentioned as one of their own slot machines. A few other examples of slots where the two collaborated, include Miami Glow, The Vault, and The Bounty.
How To Play Egyptian Tombs Slot Machine
You can spend up to $24 for every single spin that you trigger in Egyptian Tombs, but that’s just the maximum amount allowed. A minimum of $0.20 is possible as well, so depending on how you want to tackle a highly volatile slot, there is enough of a range for you to play with.
What you’re going to get, regardless of the bet value, is a game area with 3125 ways to win, obtained via 5×5 reels. To get paid, you need to form combinations via symbols landing on 3+ adjacent reels, going left to right.
Special Features
Symbols with the Eye of Ra, in the regular version, will be used by the game to trigger its best prizes. Depending on how many of these scatters you can get, with up to 10 required, prizes will go from a measly 2x, to as much as 10,000x the stake.
Another feature to aim for, is the one called Tomb Bonus, activated via Scarab symbols landing at the same time on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th reels.
It’s a Wheel of Fortune-style feature, with the spin of the wheel delivering a random number of free spins, between 8 and 50.
During free games, the odds of the Super Spins triggering are higher. The Super Spins will get additional Horus, Cleopatra and Ra symbols on their reels, plus the Ra symbols are also turned into wilds, so you get substitutes to help you out then.
These Ra Wilds, used only during Super Spins, can form their own wins, paying 10x the stake then, as much as the top regular symbol.
Maximum Payouts
It’s an adequate top prize that you can look forward to in Egyptian Tombs. Worth 10,000x the stake, that kind of payout is going to be very tough to claim, but that’s standard for a slot with high volatility. You want to see a high enough RTP level in any slot machine, and Egyptian Tombs does well, the figure quoted being 96.18%.
Summary
Egyptian Tombs offers its players big enough rewards, some adequate features, and it’s not a bad game overall. It’s not a top choice in any category though. You get better-looking Egyptian slots elsewhere, more interesting features, bigger payouts, and so on. I consider it an average release, fine to play, but not the best one around.
