Game of Thrones Power Stacks
Theme of Game of Thrones Power Stacks Slot Machine
It’s not Microgaming’s first attempt at a branded slot machine that is inspired by the Game of Thrones TV series, but it’s definitely the best one they managed to release so far. While in the previous release we had bland graphics and no images of the actors, here they put a bit more effort in, and some of the series heroes and villains are visible in its symbols.
To start with, we have four low-paying symbols that are showing us the logos representing the various houses (Greyjoy, Lannister, Stark, and Targaryen). Next, there are five symbols showing us heroes and villains, using images of the actual actors that played them (Tormund, Night King, Sansa Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, and John Snow). Its feature symbols revolve around the Iron Throne (scatter) and the Game Logo (wild).
Released exclusively at Microgaming casinos, Game of Thrones Power Stacks is actually a design from Slingshot Studios. The smaller studio partnered up with Microgaming on previous occasions, and so far I’ve been quite happy with the games they designed for them, titles like African Legends: Wow Major Jackpot.
How To Play It
At its lowest, the bet will include 20 coins that are worth $0.01 each. You can increase both, and spend as much as $1 per bet line (10 coins of $0.10 each). This allows for a maximum bet of $20.
Though you’re betting like you have only 20 lines, there are actually 40 of them present on the slot’s reels. The requirements are the standard ones, so you have to get matching symbols to appear left to right on a line, and at least of 3 need to be there for you to get a win.
If you notice the game logo on the reels, there are a couple of ways that it can be useful to you. For one, it can be a substitute, which you can have part of various winning combinations. It needs to land in the exact spot where you’d need a regular symbol to complete a win, and it will do that for you. Even better, is when you can get the wild to land several times on a line, in a way that allows it to form its own combinations (up to 25x the stake paid).
The Iron Throne is hard to miss, and while you shouldn’t expect to see it often on the reels, when it does land it can be very useful. 3 or more Iron Throne symbols will get you paid, anywhere from 1x to 100x the stake. This is also the requirement for triggering 15 free spins, where you have a 2x multiplier applied to all wins formed (even Coin prizes).
Link & Win is a feature that includes respins, and which requires 6+ Coin scatters landing in view. Each Coin has a prize to give you, plus there are several Coins associated with fixed prizes. You start off with 3 respins, and the triggering Coins. Whenever new Coins land, the respins reset. At the end of the feature, you get paid for every Coin you collected. If you fill the reels with Coins, you claim the Valyrian Jackpot, worth up to 5,000x the stake (if triggered during free spins).
Game of Thrones Power Stacks can pay very well, as the 25,000x top jackpot proves. Of course, that’s only possible in a slot with high volatility, so do mind the risk that’s involved, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. RTP is set to 96.20%, 94.20%, or 92.20% (the operator decides).
Game of Thrones Power Stacks is the best branded slot machine we’ve seen with this particular theme so far, and it’s also a much more volatile and rewarding release. Definitely recommended to experienced players, not so much to beginners.
