Neptune’s Quest Slot Free Play
Neptune’s Quest
Neptune, the God of the Sea in Ancient Rome, is the equivalent of Poseidon from Ancient Greece.
We’re seeing a mythology themed slot here, which makes use of symbols which are often connected to the ocean, using underwater cities, deities, mermaids, water bulls and octopuses in its major symbols. Even the less relevant are interesting, showing fish, shells, starfish or tridents.
Developer
WMS is a name to be recognized in this industry, one of the oldest around, as it was created in 1943. They didn’t start creating slots until the 90s though, and initially they were designers of pinball machines. They did great in this new field, and offered both land-based and online machines of the highest quality. Neptune’s Quest is a pretty good example of that.
How To Play It
The game gives you 100 paylines, and they’re going to rely on just 50 coins from the bet system. You set up the coin value between $0.01 and $5, which means that the total amount going into the game is $0.50 to $250.
As for the way to play it, it’s going to become clear quite quickly, that this is no regular slot. Besides the fact that it gives you 100 paylines, it also has two sets of 2×2 reels on the first two columns, and then 3×6 reels for the rest of the game area. It considers those symbols from the first two columns to be individual reels, of 1 symbol each, even though they’re grouped. What you need to keep in mind, is that you still form wins with up to 5 matching symbols, nothing has changed there.
Special Features
For the list of features available in Neptune’s Quest, expect to get a wild, and you can find it in the symbol with the Octopus. The monster can be seen on the reels, as a contributor to all winning combinations, but not for scatters. They do pay their own prizes as well, and they reach 250x the line bet, same as the Neptune jackpot.
The image of Atlantis, or some other underwater city, is visible in the symbol which gets to act as a scatter. You can use it to gain access to the free spins, in a couple of ways.
First, you could get 5 free spins and 1x the bet, if you have three scatters appearing on the three big reels, or if you get four matching symbols on the 2×2 reels from the beginning.
Second, there is the possibility to get both a set of 2×2 filled with matching symbols, and the three scatters on the big reels. If both conditions are met, then you get 20 free spins and a prize worth 100x the stake.
Any matching symbols used to trigger the free spins, are going to become sticky for the feature. 2X2 symbols are used on the reel columns which didn’t have matching icons present at the start. You also get expanded wilds for the feature’s duration, covering the entire last reel, and appearing stacked on the other big ones.
Maximum Payouts
The company limits the game’s payouts to a value of $250,000 per spin. If you look at individual winning combinations, those pay as much as $1,250, or you can get up to $125,000 by filling the reels with wilds and Neptune icons.
One of the elements to consider is the kind of RTP that is available from the game. You can count on this slot offering a good return in the long run, being set at 96.39%. This only tells you how much it’s expected to pay back for its entire lifetime, not for your own sessions.
Summary
I enjoyed the fact that Neptune’s Quest is different, it’s making it more fun to play, especially with the 100 lines it can form wins on.
