Theme of The Game
Life onboard cruise ships is supposed to be fun, and you get to see a lot of new places during the day, while sipping cocktails and meeting new people in the evening. Sounds like a blast, and it’s the theme that Gold Coin Studios and Microgaming went with for Smooth Sailing, their latest slot machine. The cartoon-like design works fine for it, though it’s not that impressive, and the background image gives us a glimpse of the ship.
As symbols, some of the positions will be occupied by colorful Royals, but the themed ones will deliver images of bells, ship’s wheel, an anchor, and the captain’s hat. Boat symbols and wilds are also going to be seen on those reels.

As I previously said, this is a game that comes from Microgaming and Gold Coin Studios, so it’s an exclusive for the giant, from a smaller developer that they’ve partnered with. The quality of the games from these partnerships can vary, but overall I’d say it’s a plus for Microgaming.

To play this game, all you need is to decide on a wager, then hit spin. The bet options are going from $0.20 to $40.
The wager can be increased, and you could pay $0.30 to $60, if you used the Gold Coin Bet (doubles the odds of triggering free spins).

Smooth Sailing looks good overall, but a lot of its focus is on that Connectify Pays mechanic, which is tasked with the delivery of the biggest prizes. If you’re not a fan of this system, the game is not going to be all that interesting.
