Oxygen is a slot that can easily be a personal favorite of all types of players. The bonus round is very exciting, especially if you manage to get some high win multipliers early in. When I first saw this slot, I was happy to see a modern design. It has 6 reels and 7 rows, using a cluster pays design. This means you will need to land at least 5 matching symbols, adjacent to one another horizontally or vertically. Like I said I’m a big fan of Elk Studios slots. From the very first time they went live, they captured me with their originality and details. Their slots are also optimized for mobile play first, which is great for all players who want to enjoy slots on the go. I’m definitely going to be playing this game a lot in the future. The max payout is too much to resist and I like overall what the game has to offer.

My Own Experience Playing Oxygen

Whenever I can I like to give the bonus buy option a try. I’m just too eager to land the bonus and I’ve learned that many times it takes well over 100 spins for it to land. But I can’t say I’m too fond of the Super Bonus buys. They cost 500x the stake, which is too high in my book. But on Oxygen, this is where I got my bigger win. It came up to almost 2,500x the stake, so I made a pure profit of 2,000x the stake. This was a pretty nice win, but I know the game can pay a lot more. Hopefully, I will witness it firsthand someday soon.

 

Bonus Features and Payouts

In addition to the cluster pays this slot also comes with an Avalanche feature. All symbols that contribute to a win get removed and new ones drop to fill in the screen. Once a win is formed on a position you get a x1 multiplier. That multiplier gets doubled each time a new win lands on that position. The maximum multiplier that you can land per position is 2,048. This may seem impossible to do, but the designers have a few surprises in their sleeves.

On any spin, the Multiplier Strike feature can be triggered. It will add a random amount of multis across the screen. You can also land the Multiplier Collector, which can even be a Persistent Collector. It will collect all of the multipliers from the screen to its own value. The collector is activated each time a win is formed on his position. If you land 2 or 3 of them you can easily see how the multipliers can grow to great heights.

The Dealer Feature will multiply all multipliers on the screen in a V shape, horizontally or vertically from its position.

The Exploding Wild removes all symbols in an X-shaped area.

The X-Blaster Wild will select a random symbol in an X shape and replace all symbols in that path with the chosen symbol.

Free Spins Bonus

The free spins bonus in Oxygen is triggered when 3 bonus symbols land on the screen. You start with 10 free drops and each time 2 or 3 Bonus symbols land on the screen you get 3 and 5 extra drops. If the Super Bonus is triggered at least one feature will be a persistent one.

Players can also buy the features at any time via the X-iter option. For a price of 3x your stake, you triple your chances to trigger the bonus. For a 10x the stake spin you are guaranteed to trigger the Multiplier Strike feature. For 25x the stake the Multiplier feature is persistent, while 100x the stake will trigger the free spins bonus.

As I mentioned before the Super Bonus is the costliest to buy, at a price of 500x the stake. But you get at least one persistent feature and you can get even more during the feature. This is where the biggest payouts can land, with some luck on your side.

Comparison with Other slots

Personally, for me, Oxygen is a slot that combines features from my two favorite slots, Money Train and Sugar Rush. Both of these games are great and I enjoy playing them, so now I have all of my favorite features in a single game. This is why Oxygen may easily become one of my all-time favorite slots.

Benefits and Drawbacks

Well, the one detail I don’t like about Oxygen is that the Super Bonus comes at a cost of 500x the stake. I think it should be lower, maybe up to a maximum of 300x the stake. This will make it more affordable to a bigger number of players and encourage them to buy it. But the game does have a high payout potential, so even at that cost the feature is worth buying.

Our Conclusion

Oxygen is absolutely one of the all-time best slots by Elk Studios. The game has nearly everything you can ask for and is sure to become a big hit among players. I will certainly keep on playing it at my favorite casinos. As always, my target is that maximum payout, but I will settle for something smaller. As long as the game pays, I will keep spinning the reels. However I would have liked to see a higher RTP.
