Theme of The Game
With Kane as its lead character, the Gold series has given us a number of interesting locations from all over the world. A similar title would be Tahiti Gold perhaps, but Pacific Gold has its own setting, on some island that was untouched for a long time, since World War 2. We see one of the era’s airplanes that fell on the island, and it appears to be a major part of the slot’s identity. As usual, the graphics from this ELK Studios slot are very good.
A dozen different symbols are used in Pacific Gold, and they appear to come in three categories. The low ones are the four Royals, Jack to Ace. The next four are abstract images which appear to draw inspiration from the civilizations of the Pacific. The top four will include three idol masks, and an image of Kane (highest value symbol). Planes are used as bonus symbols, while Wild logos are present as well.
Developer
A major developer, but not one that launches a lot of games, ELK Studios nonetheless manages to put one new slot machines pretty much every month. They have their own pace at which they’re doing things, and it seems to be working for them. You rarely go wrong by choosing one of their slots, as usually they’re very good.
How To Play Pacific Gold Slot Machine Demo
With 100 coins in every single wager you can use, the values can be very low at the $0.20 minimum, and decent at a maximum of $100.
You’re going to play with a setup that offers 4096 ways to win, on 6×4 reels. The game area expands at times, even up to 262,144 ways, since up to 6×8 reels can become available. 3+ symbols will form combinations on adjacent reels, left to right.
Special Features
After forming any wins through the slot’s ways to win system, you are going to experience an Avalanche. This makes the winning symbols explode. You’re getting new symbols for the empty positions, and the game area also gets a boost, with one extra row. As there can be multiple Avalanches, the setup can reach 6×8 reels eventually, with up to 262,144 ways active on them.
Avalanches can also result in the appearance of big symbols, coming in three variants, from 2×2 to 4×4.
The Wild is made out of gold, and it shows its own logo, so it’s going to be easy to spot. Use it as a replacement when possible, but only next to regular symbols.
Pacific Wave is the name of a horizontal stacked symbol, with up to 4 positions occupied on a row.
Power Stacks are stacked symbols, which increase in size as you go through Avalanches. 2 extra symbols are added each time.
Ghost Box is a mechanic that allows the collection of winning symbols, which are dropping from the reels. All collected symbols are added back to the game area, once the round is over.
To trigger between 10 and 25 free drops (free spins), you need the Plane Bonus symbols landing on 3 to 6 reels. Each time that you get a win inside, the starting size for the game area increases, so eventually you could play with 6×8 reels all the time.
Maximum Payouts
Like a lot of other slot machines that give the player high volatility, Pacific Gold will also come with adequate rewards for that kind of risk. 10,000x the stake looks like a healthy top jackpot, but there is a downside as well, and that would be the 95% RTP.
Summary
Pacific Gold will deliver an impressive mix of special features, and it’s going to be fun to play for that reason alone. The rewards look good as well, but with a 95% RTP used see all Elk Studios Slots and RTP, I wouldn’t actually recommend it as a long-term game.
