- Really boring to play
Theme of The Game
Forge of Fortunes is a unique simple slot game, not so much for its theme – although the concept of a forge where nuggets are turned into gold bars is quite distinctive. What really sets it apart is the setup with 3×1 reels and the limited number of symbols that can land on them. The design quality is up to the mark, as Play’n GO typically delivers, however, in my opinion, this game is an exception as I don’t find it enjoyable to play. You’ll notice a conveyor belt at the bottom, which only becomes active during the re-spins.
In this slot, there are only two types of symbols. One is the blocker symbol, represented by coal. The other is the gold nugget, which needs to land two or three times to yield any returns.
Developer
The creator of Forge of Fortunes is a major developer of online slot machines, called Play n GO. Hundreds of other slot games are offered by them, and if you follow their progress you will notice new games being released several times each month. With so many great games, it’s difficult to pick just a few, but I would recommend titles like Book of Dead, Gunslinger Reloaded, or Mega Don, to mention a few of my favorites.
How To Play It
Select whatever bet works for you, and you’re good to go. The bet values are chosen by the developer, and the extremes of the range are at $0.10 and $100.
You are playing on 3×1 reels, so there is only one active line there, if you can call it that. The slot doesn’t actually use it in the usual manner. You are required to get either 2 gold nuggets to get a small win (the value of the bet is paid back), or 3 gold nuggets in order to access the main feature. The coal symbols are blockers, so they don’t do anything for you.
Special Features
As I mentioned above, having 3 Gold Nuggets, which occupy all positions on the reels, will trigger the main feature, the Forging Re-Spins. For this mode, the coals are only allowed to appear on reel 3. Each time they show up, you move back on the conveyor belt, so the price you can claim is reduced. To advance, you need to keep getting those gold nuggets, 3 at a time for each step you take.
At certain points, there are Safe Runners which will engage, and will guarantee you a prize, since you can’t get to a lower level.
Maximum Payouts
Forge of Fortunes will pay a decent amount, but I’m not exactly impressed with that top jackpot. 2,500x the stake is not a lot, especially these days, but then again it’s not coming with too high of a volatility either (medium to high, to be precise). It doesn’t happen in the base game, so your only hope is to reach the re-spins and get lucky there.
Play n GO releases slots which have several RTP values, and there is only one that’s worth going after, the maximum value of 96.20%. The others are at 94.20% or lower.
Summary
Forge of Fortunes is unique, and that is not something to sneeze at these days, with thousands of other slot machines which are pretty much clones of each other, with minor variations. Even though top jackpots and RTP matter as well, it’s worth looking into those slots that go the extra mile when it comes to unique gameplay. However it gets a low score due to the game is simply not fun to play.
