Golden Grimoire Slot Free Play
When it comes to a name like NetEnt, most players will immediately know the developer that we’re talking about. It’s a giant in this particular space, a top 3 provider of casino games, and of slot machines in particular.
They have been around for a long time, being established at the beginning of the online gambling industry, in the mid 90s. They have excellent graphics in their slot machines, and usually low or medium volatility titles, though they’re looking into expanding more into the high volatility niche.
How To Play It
As with other NetEnt slots that you might’ve played in the past, the betting system will allow you to change the level of the bet (1 to 10 coins per line) and the coin value ($0.01 to 2).
You have 40 lines to play on, but only 20 of them require wagers each round, so the betting range will have 20 to 200 coins at its extremes. Considering the denominations allowed, the bet value is $0.20 to $400 per spin.
One of the more memorable features that you can use in Golden Grimoire, the Mystery Spell Book is a symbol that you can find on the last three columns. Have at least one appear on the reels, and it will transform into a random symbol (low, medium or wild symbols). All positions with Mystery Spell Books will be transformed into that single chosen icon.
In addition, if the Mystery symbol is the same one as the leftmost icon present on the same row as it is, then the positions between them will be turned into that type of symbol as well. Getting an entire row of matching symbols is possible this way, and this can happen for wilds as well. If the mystery icon is a wild, then automatically you get a row filled with wilds, up to the leftmost position.
The part that I wasn’t a fan of, is the fact that you can get wilds only when the Mystery symbols transform. They act as substitutes for all regular symbols.
The favorite feature for a lot of players, a round with 8 free spins is activated when three scatters land on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels. The extra feature that’s offered for it will be the Sticky Mystery Symbol. These land on the last four reels, and they behave just like the regular Mystery Symbols from the base game. The difference is that they stick around in their current positions, until the free spins are over, turning into another icon each round.
It’s quite a disappointing game, payout wise, or at least when it comes to its potential. The highest winning combinations pay 100x the line bet, so the most you can get is 4,000x the line bet, or about 200x the stake wagered. That’s only a $80,000 top jackpot.
Even though the game disappoints in terms of actual payout potential, it’s got the usual good RTP, in this case being set to 96.44%.
Golden Grimoire has incredibly low payouts and what looks like low to medium volatility, so I wouldn’t play it for its top rewards, they’re not exciting enough. It does well in other areas, such as in graphics or RTP wise.
