Lure of Fortune is a cluster pays game. You need to land 4 or more matching symbols next to one another to get a win. For the design, this slot is played on a 5×5 grid. For high volatility, the bet can go up to $50 per spin, and for extremely high volatility the bets go as high as $20 per spin.

This is not a bad win, but it was on a small bet. This is why now I give this slot a couple of hundred spins and walk away. I know that if luck is on my side this is enough to land a mega payout. Hopefully, someday it will visit my screen as well.

Bonus Features and Payouts

Each of the symbols in Lure of Fortune comes with a win multiplier. It starts at x1 and doubles every time a win occurs with that symbol. The max multiplier is determined by the volatility mode you choose. The multiplier will keep on increasing as long as there are wins with the corresponding symbol. All winning symbols disappear and new ones fall to fill in the places, so you can get consecutive wins.

Free Spins Bonus

With 3 Bonus symbols on the reels, the feature is triggered. It’s played with a separate set of symbols and on a 6×9 grid. You get 3 free spins and 5 symbols are added on row 2 from the bottom. The 6^th reel is a multiplier ladder where multipliers are displayed and added to the values of the corresponding row. The trick here is to get the symbols to the top rows where the biggest multipliers await.

On reels 1 to 5, you can get several feature symbols. The Fish reveals a certain value and moves up one row. The hammer will push all symbols from the reel up one row. The payer will add a value to all symbols. The doubler will double the value of the symbols on the reel it lands on. The Spawner will copy a symbol it lands on and add a new one below it.

On reel 6 you can land the Golden Hammer, pushing all symbols up one row. The Payer will increase the multipliers on reel 6 by 1, while the doubler will double the multipliers. The Bonus symbol sets the number of free spins to 4. The Persistent Payer, Spawner, and Hammer have the same function as explained above, but they will remain active for the entire feature.

The feature ends when no new symbols land on the reels. Once the symbols reach the top, the values from new ones will be added together. You can instantly buy the feature for a price of 50, 100, and 150x the stake, depending on the volatility mode.

Comparison with Other slots

For me, Lure of Fortune shares some similarities with Money Train by Relax Gaming and all the other sequels that followed. But I like the fact that you can change the volatility of the game. In my mind, this makes it more fun to play and you don’t end up with too many low payouts in the bonus. This is very disappointing in the Money Train slots, considering how hard it is to trigger the feature.

Benefits and Drawbacks

The biggest benefit for me in Lure of Fortune is that the price to buy the feature on extreme volatility is only 150x the stake. This is a small price to pay for a chance to land the maximum payout. The price is lower for the other two volatility modes, so every player can afford to buy the feature. I think this will bring more players to the reels of Lure of Fortune and make it a popular slot.

Our Conclusion

I have to say that the Money Train slots are one of my favorites in the Relax Gaming collection. So, it was a nice surprise to see similar features in Lure of Fortune as well. The game has a lot to offer, ranging from visuals to features and payouts. With a top payout of 50,000x, the stake every player is sure to give this slot.
