How to Play Book of 99

My Own Experience Playing Book of 99

The detail that initially attracted me to Book of 99 was the 99% RTP value. This was a bit odd for me since most other similar slots have an RTP value of 96%. But I can’t say that the RTP value is really noticeable as you play the game. You can still go down quite a lot if the bonus rounds pay poorly. My top win for now is only 400x the stake. I can’t seem to get the higher-paying symbols as special ones in the feature, so I always end up with smaller payouts. Bonus Features and Payouts

The main symbol in the game is the Book. It’s a standard Wild symbol and also takes on the function of the Scatter. The Wild substitutes all other symbols from the paytable. What’s a bit strange in this game is the fact that the Wild doesn’t have a payout of its own. In most other Book slots landing 5 Wilds on the screen brings a payout of 200x the stake.

On the left side of the reels, you will see the Collection meter. It starts with 0 and ends with 99. Every wild that lands on the screen is collected to the meter. What’s interesting here is that the collection meter doesn’t reset if you change your bet. You can play the game on higher and lower bets. Once 99 wilds are collected you trigger the free spins bonus. The bet the feature is played on is the average bet you used to trigger the feature.

Apart from the Collection meter, you can also trigger the free spins instantly by landing 3 or more Wilds anywhere on the screen. When this happens you are instantly awarded 10 free spins, played on the triggering bet. If you land 3 or more Wilds during the bonus you get another 10 free spins.

Before the feature begins a book opens and a random symbol from the paytable is chosen. The only excluded symbol is the Wild. This special symbol will expand each time it lands on the screen. For this to happen you need to land at least 2 of the high-paying symbols and at least 3 of the low-paying ones.

What’s great is that the symbols don’t need to land on adjacent reels or from left to right. So if you land 4 symbols on the last 4 reels they will expand and award payouts of 4 of a kind across all 10 paylines. Of course, the biggest wins in Book of 99 land when you get 5 matching special symbols on the reels, expanding for a full screen of matching symbols.

The top paying symbol in the game has a payout of 500x the stake, so a full screen of them translates to a win of 5,000x the stake.

Like I already said Book slots are pretty much identical with some small changes. You can compare this game to the Book of Dead, Ramses Book, Book of Ra, Book of Aztec, and Book of Fortune. I think it’s nice that you can trigger the feature by collecting 99 wilds. This may seem like a lot but in reality, you can collect them in under 200 spins. So many times you can easily break even or end up in profit thanks to this feature.
