No one can escape Medusa’s Stone gaze
Greek mythology fans will instantly know where the slot theme derives from, once they see the Medusa’s Stone name. Turned into a monster whose gaze would turn all living things into stone, Medusa was slain by Perseus. He used her head to defeat the Kraken and save Andromeda, as well as the city of Argos. Thus, one of the greatest ancient Greek legends was born.
Today the story of Medusa serves as an inspiration for slots designers, so you can easily come across many Medusa slots across online casinos. The RTP's and Volatility
If you’re a fan of the Pragmatic Play slots by now you already know that most of them come with high volatility. This is also the case with Medusa’s Stone. The RTP value in normal play is good and above average and sits at 96.46%. If you buy the regular free spins the RTP climbs at 96.50%, while for the Super Free spins it’s even higher at 96.53%. So, if you decide to follow the RTP, you are best off buying the super bonus and hoping for the biggest payouts.
How to Win
Well, by now we already learned that if a game has a super bonus offer you are best to go with that. This is where you have the best chance to hit the biggest payouts. In Medusa’s Stone, the cost to buy the super free spins is only 200x. This is much lower compared to many other slots with a super bonus where it costs around 500x to buy it. So if you have a bigger bankroll you can give the bonus buys a try and see how they work out.
Up to 7,000x maximum payout
Most Pragmatic Play slots have a maximum payout of 5,000x. But with the Medusa’s Stone slot, this value is a bit higher, set at 7,000x. This means that while playing the game on a $1 bet you have a chance to win up to $7,000 in one bonus round. This is a payout well worth chasing and landing on the reels of the Medusa’s Stone slot.
Medusa’s Stone Reels, Rows and Paylines
The game has an interesting design with a 3x4x4x4x3 grid. We expected a massive number of paylines on this design, but instead, there are only 20 of them. Any three or more matching symbols landing on a payline on adjacent reels from left to right results in a win.
Theme, Visuals and Sounds
We already mentioned that the game is inspired by the Greek legend of Medusa and Perseus. The designers did a great job with the visual details, as well as the game symbols. The slot is fun to play with great background music, especially in the bonus rounds.
Symbols and Payouts in the Medusa’s Stone slot
The lowest paying symbols in Medusa’s Stone start with the A, K and Q. They all have the same payouts ranging from 0.25x up to 1x for 5 of a kind. They continue with the Helmet and Sword, awarding payouts of 0.50x up to 2x. The medium payout symbols are the three character symbols, with top payouts of 5x, 10x and 12.5x. The highest payout in the game comes from Zeus at 25x.
Medusa Spin and Transforming Symbols
In the Medusa’s Stone slot, there is only one random bonus feature that you can trigger during base play. This is the Medusa Spin. On any spin, the feature will transform all of the character symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4 into Wild symbols. This excludes the bonus and super bonus symbols. This is a great base play feature that can award small to medium payouts.
Super Free Spins, Sticky Wilds and Win Multipliers Features Rating 9.8/10
Eager to see what the free spins and the super free spins are all about? Keep on reading our Medusa’s Stone slot review.
Free Spins
For the free spins bonus to be triggered you need to land a free spins symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5. This awards you 10 free spins. In the bonus, you want to trigger the Medusa Spin feature as many times as possible. When it lands all of the character symbols that are turned to wilds on the middle 3 reels will also get a random win multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5 or x6.
When the wild is used in a win its multiplier is added to the meter. The payout is calculated based on the total collected multiplier. Also, any wild that isn’t used in that spin stays in place until it contributes to a payout. So in one spin, you can end up with quite a large number of wilds on the screen.
Super Free Spins Bonus
For the Super Free Spins bonus to be triggered you need 3 of the Super Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Here you are awarded 12 free spins. The super bonus works in the same manner as the regular free spins. But here you have a better chance to trigger the Medusa spin more frequently and to get higher multipliers. In the super bonus, the win multipliers are x4, x5, x6, X7 and x8.
Bonus Buy
If you want to instantly trigger the bonus round you need to click on the Buy Free Spins button. When you do you are presented with 2 options. For the regular free spins, you need to spend only 75x. This is a very low price to buy the feature and you should take advantage of it. For the super free spins, you will need to spend a bit more at 200x. But the higher cost is well worth it, as you have a better chance to hit those mega payouts.

Results from our 500 spins on Medusa’s Stone
We always try the slots we review for 500 spins to see how our luck works out. For this game, we managed to trigger the regular free spins 3 times and surprisingly enough even managed to trigger the super bonus once. The results from the regular free spins were quite low, with payouts of 68x, 43x and 84x. But the Medusa Spin feature comes quite often during base play so we were still in profit.
The super free spins were more generous, giving us a win of 572x. This was quite a nice win, giving us enough profit to do several bonus buys. Again the regular free spins winnings were quite low. We bought the super bonus twice, with the first one giving as a payout of almost 400x, while the second buy netter only 82x. So, overall we were quite happy with the results from our 500 spins on the Medusa’s Stone slot.
Is Medusa’s Stone worth playing? Overall Rating: 9.7/10
In our opinion, defiantly yes. The Medusa’s Stone slot has a lot to offer when it comes to features and payouts. Base play wins are quite regular, so despite the high volatility you don’t lose a lot. The features pay nicely, especially the super bonus. But we would recommend playing the game with a bigger bankroll and focusing on the super bonus buys.
Medusa’s Stone FAQ
What’s the maximum multiplier I can get in a single spin during the bonus round?
There’s no limit to this because of the way the feature works. Theoretically, you could end up with all 3 middle reels with character symbols, that will turn to wilds with the highest 8x win multiplier. So, in theory, the top multiplier per pay line would be 24x.
How often should I use the bonus buys?
Well for us personally we would say as much as your bankroll allows it. The super free spins can award the biggest payouts, so you have the best chances of winning if you go on a bonus buy spree.
What are the odds to hit the maximum payout in Medusa’s Stone?
According to the provider, the chance to hit the max win on this slot is 1 in 22,935,800.
