Tale of Kyubiko
- Fun 3 reels slot
Theme of The Game
We’ve seen a lot of impressive designs in slot machines designed for the Asian market already, but most of them don’t come with only 3×3 reels. Tale of Kyubiko is already special, because of the type of gameplay it offers through that small game area. Having gorgeous symbols as well is a great bonus. The inspiration is coming from a Japanese deity, called Inari Okami.
Tale of Kyubiko has four low paying symbols, with paper lanterns colored differently and sporting images of the card suits on the side. We then get three symbols of high value, showing images of a bird, frog, and monkey. The top paying symbol, and the regular wild, has the image of a Fox mask. The White Fox represents Inari, and it’s a stacked wild.
Developer
Among several hundred other slot machines from Play n GO, Tale of Kyubiko is special in some ways, but not when it comes to the quality of the design. The graphics are always very good in these Play n GO games. Moon Princess is another example of a slot crafted for the Asian market.
How To Play Tale of Kyubiko Slot Machine
Tale of Kyubiko only requires $0.10, and it will spin its reels for you. A bet of up to $100 can also be selected, so there are a lot of options for players, and most types of budgets are covered.
With only 3×3 reels in play, it’s only natural for Tale of Kyubiko not to have a lot of active lines. Just 5 are present here, and you will need matching symbols covering all 3 positions on a line, in order to get paid.
Special Features
A regular wild symbol will be part of the slot’s line-up, and I’ve found several good things to note about it. One thing would be its ability to pay when it covers a full line on its own. Three wilds will pay 10x the stake, while regular symbols pay up to 8x. The other is the ability it has, to substitute for other symbols, so it makes it more likely for those other wins to come.
Inari Stacked Wilds are also part of the game. These symbols can contribute to other wins, and whenever they manage it, they trigger a respin. This is called Inari’s Dance, because the wild symbol moves around to a different reel, and keeps bringing respins if new wins form with its help. A multiplier increases with each move, and the highest it will go is 25x.
Inari’s Fortune is another potential feature that could help you. If you get only a partial stacked wild show up, there is a chance that it will be nudged into place, to cover the full reel. This happens only if it can result in a new combination forming (which also triggers Inari’s Dance and its respins).
Maximum Payouts
A top prize of 2,250x the stake is about what you’d expect from a slot machine that has medium volatility. The RTP is good, up to 96.20%, and if you can find it at that level, the game can be a good pick.
Summary
Tale of Kyubiko delivers the right mix of special features, great graphics, and adequate top prizes. It manages to be a fun alternative to a lot of other 3-reel slot machines, and it’s particularly interesting if the legend of Inari is not a mystery to you.
