My Own Experience Playing Beam Boys

I have to say that when I saw that the top payout in Beam Boys was 12,500x the stake I expected to land some big wins. But so far it hasn’t been the case. I think it’s just my bad luck with this game. The bonus round seems fairly easy to trigger, though I’ve never triggered it with more than 4 scatters. But every time the payouts are small. I don’t think I had a payout of over 200x the stake so far. Landing 2 or more wilds on the last reels during the bonus seems impossible. The couple of times they did land the payouts were small since the rest of the symbols were the lowest-paying ones. But I know the game has the potential to pay big. So I have nothing else to do but keep on trying to land that monster payout.

 

Bonus Features and Payouts

The first thing I want to address in the game is the volatility switch. It’s located on the left side of the reels. Setting it on Normal means you will get more frequent payouts, but they will be smaller in size. If you set it to Extreme you can expect bigger payouts, but they will be few and far in between. Personally, I always go for big wins, so it’s no wonder why I always set it to extreme. But this all depends on your personal preference. Choose the volatility which suits you the most and give the game a try.

The Laser Cat is the Wild symbol in the game. It can land in any position on reels 2 to 6. When the cat lands on a reel it will shoot a laser from its eyes to the left. All positions to the left of the cat will be transformed to Wilds. Thanks to the 4,096 ways to win and the stacked symbols on the screen you can land some hefty wins on the reels.

Free Spins Bonus

For the bonus round to be triggered in Beam Boys you need to land 3, 4, 5 or 6 Free Spins symbols across the reels. In return, you are awarded 5, 10, 20 or 40 free spins. If you land another 2 or 3 Free Spins symbols during the feature you get an additional 2 and 4 free spins.

Unfortunately, there are no extra features added during the bonus round. But the wild cats do have a tendency to land more often on the reels. So all you need is 4 wilds on the last reel for a full screen of wilds and the top payout per spin in the game.

If you want you can instantly buy the bonus for a price of 110x the stake. The number of triggering symbols is random, so you even have a chance to land it with the maximum of 6 scatters.

If you want each spin to come with at least one wild on reels 4-6 you will need to spend 200x per spin. For at least one wild on reels 2-6 each spin you will need to spend 50x the stake.

Comparison with Other slots

I don’t think that Hacksaw Gaming has a similar slot to Beam Boys. But they have lots of other titles to choose from. If you’re a dog lover I can warmly recommend Pug Life. This is a fun slot with a great set of bonus rounds. Despite the cute appearance, this is a seriously volatile slot that can pay big in the bonus round.

Benefits and Drawbacks

The biggest benefit of Beam Boys is that the bonus round comes at a relatively cheap cost of only 110x the stake. But on the other hand, the paytable is quite poor, making it very hard to land big wins. I think that to win big in this game you need to be very lucky and land 3 wilds on the last reel.

Our Conclusion

Hacksaw Gaming is always experimenting with their new releases, trying to come up with new ways to keep their fans entertained. I like the fact that Beam Boys comes with a volatility switch. This way on normal volatility I think the game would be great for wagering big bonus amounts. You should get pretty regular payouts that are decent in size, so you can go through a lot of spins without taking a big hit to your bankroll.
