Introduction
Pragmatic Play is one of my favourite providers today, so I always aim to give their slots a try when I’m playing at online casinos. I like many of their titles and have a list of favourite games that I always chase in my sessions. But this doesn’t mean that I’m not on the lookout for new additions. I always check the latest releases from Pragmatic Play and if some title catches my eye I put it to the test. One of the latest slots I had a chance to try is Aztec Powernudge.
As you can guess from the name the slot is inspired by the Aztec nation, so you will surely recognize many of the symbols on the reels. The game comes with a power nudge feature, which is not really new but can’t be found in many other Pragmatic slots. So, I like the fact that the provider is experimenting with their new releases and trying different angles. The game has an interesting gameplay and design, with attractive bonus features. This is enough to give it a try across our recommended brands.

How to Win on Aztec Powernudge: Understanding Different Options and RTP
I like the fact that most Pragmatic Play slots are well within the industry standard of 96%. With Aztec Powernudge that value stands at 96.46%. The RTP climbs a bit when you use the Buy Free Spins feature at 96.49%. This can serve as an encouragement to go for the bonus buys more frequently, of course, if your bankroll allows it.
You can already guess that the volatility of Aztec Powernudge is set at high. This is the case with most Pragmatic Play slots, or at least the ones that have a maximum multiplier of 5,000 or more. So you should be careful with your bankroll when you play this game.
How to Play Aztec Powernudge
Aztec Powernudge comes with 6 reels and 5 rows. It uses an All Symbols Pay design, meaning you need at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the screen to get a winning combination. The bets start pretty low, at $0.20 per spin, and climb all the way up to $240. To play Aztec Powernudge all you need is to set the bet to the desired value and after that hit the Spin button. You can also use the Auto Play option to give your hand a rest and play up to 1,000 auto spins.
A Decade of Playing Slots
The thing I like the most about slots is that they are constantly changing. Every day you can come across some slot that is new and exciting, bringing something new to the table. All providers have to do this. They never know what the players will like or dislike until they try it. So many providers learn from past experiences and create top-notch slots. Some games can stay liked for years to come, with players coming back to their reels over and over again.
My Own Experience Playing Aztec Powernudge
I have to say I was pretty skeptical when I first saw the game. There were some things I didn’t understand really, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It didn’t help that the first few bonus rounds I got produced pretty low payouts. So from the start, my experience with Aztec Powernudge was not great.
But that all changed in one bonus. I managed to land some of the higher paying symbols on the screen, with a high multiplier of 500x. I had no idea what was happening on the screen, but once that multiplier hit I was left with a massive 2,500x payout. I was amazed at dazzled at what just happened. So I guess the previous sessions were just the high volatility acting up. After that win, I tend to try Aztec Powernudge whenever I can, hoping I can repeat that payout or even increase it.
Bonus Features
The Golden Mask is the scatter symbol in the game. It can land on any reel and you need at least 4 of them to trigger the feature. The Blue Diamond is the multiplier. When it lands on the screen during base play it comes with a random multiplier attached of x5, all the way up to x100.
As you can see in the slot name, the Power Nudge feature is triggered on any win on the reels. The reels with a winning symbol will nudge one position down. All wins are calculated on each nudge. You can also get winning combinations in the nudges with other symbols. All wins are collected on the left side of the reels. Once no more wins occur and the nudges end the win is awarded. If a multiplier is preset the value of the win is multiplied by its number.
Free Spins Bonus
With 4, 5, 6, 7 or even 8 scatters during the nudges, you will get 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 free spins. This is a great deal as you don’t need to hit 4 or more scatters in a single spin to trigger the bonus round. You can start with one or two and collect the rest from the nudges. I think this makes the way the bonus round is triggered more exciting. If you collect at least 3 scatters in the nudges during the feature you are awarded an extra 15 free spins.
What’s really interesting in the bonus round is the Win Multiplier. In addition to the values it can already have, now players can also get multipliers of x250, x500 and x1000. If you’re lucky enough to land one of these multipliers with a decent number of matching high-paying symbols you are easily on your way to a massive payday. This is what makes the bonus round in Aztec Powernudge so exciting.
If your bankroll allows it and you don’t want to wait, you can buy the bonus round at any time for 100x. Remember, the RTP is slightly higher when you use the Bonus Buy feature.
Useful Game Stats According to Pragmatic Play

- Max win hit frequency 1 in 5497659
Comparison with Other slots
Aztec Powernudge is part of a Power Nudge series of slots released by Pragmatic Play. Some of my favorites here are Sugar Supreme Powernudge and Sweet Powernudge. But with the high win multipliers, I would also compare this slot to Gates of Olympus and Starlight Princess. You can give all of them a try and see which ones you like the most.
Benefits and Drawbacks
I really like trying out new slots, especially if they have something original to offer. With Aztec Powernudge the design and the features are the biggest advantage of the game. They are fun and can produce big payouts. But on the other hand, I really don’t like that the maximum payout potential is only 5,000x. In my opinion Aztec Powernudge should come with a much higher payout.
Our Conclusion
Aztec Powernudge from Pragmatic Play is without a doubt a slot that has a lot to offer. It has an interesting way of how the bonus rounds work and is sure to catch the attention of many players. The top multipliers in the bonus round are hard to land, but if you do land them you are looking at big payouts. Even a couple of nudges with a $1 win on a 1,000 multiplier is a 2,000x payout.
