Fortunium Gold: Mega Moolah
- Huge jackpots
- okay fun to play
- To low RTP of only 87.50%
Fortunium Gold: Mega Moolah is part of two different series, depending on what you’re looking at. One is the Fortunium series, and it’s the second game to use this name. And then there is the Mega Moolah series, where the world’s biggest progressive jackpot can be triggered.
Theme wise, it’s a Steampunk themed game, with two main characters present and ready to guide you through the city of Fortunium. Maximillian and Victoria will be there, on the reels, and alongside them there will be treasure chests, guns and airships. Unfortunately, you then get the card suit icons, for the lower value symbols.
Developer
It’s a game which is designed by Stormcraft Studios, for their exclusive partner, Microgaming. It’s the second game that they’ve designed for Microgaming in this series, and so far I like what they’ve been able to come up with. Microgaming’s collection is huge, and it incorporates games from about a dozen different small developers by now, so there is plenty of variety there for those that get bored easily.
How To Play Fortunium Gold: Mega Moolah Slot
The regular bets of Fortunium Gold are going to vary between $0.10 and $15. As there is a Win Booster mode available, it can also be a bigger range, from $0.20 to $30, but that’s up to you.
To form a combo, you need the 5×5 reels & 40 lines to get 3+ symbols of the same type together. They need to start from the leftmost position of one of those lines, and continue towards the right side. D
on’t let the big game area fool you, forming combinations is similar to what you can find in other games.
Special Features
One thing to note immediately, is that there will be stacked symbols, using the images of the two main characters. Maximillian and Victoria can take over a 5-symbol reel if they land the right way, and when forming combinations you get wins of up to 8x the stake from them.
You get a lot better rewards from the slot’s wilds though. Get them to form combinations, and up to 20x the stake will be paid then. Mostly though, you will get them to appear as part of lower value combinations, acting as substitutes.
On the other hand, there are Mystery symbols in play as well, easily recognized by the Question Mark image. Also stacked, these transform into a single symbol type wherever they’re visible. Unfortunately, you get two types, with the green ones turning into high or low symbols, while gold can become wilds or high value symbols. Should the Win Booster mode be on, you will be guaranteed only gold mystery symbols.
For the free spins, the requirement is standard, so 3-5 scatters will get you 10 rounds and a prize of up to 100x the stake. You also get 1 to 3 mystery reels, which guarantee a number of matching symbols each spin.
Maximum Payouts
The game’s regular wins are not impressive, you get at most 800x the stake per spin that way.
What is impressive, is the progressive jackpot feature, and its potential. Attached to the Mega Moolah network, which has made many players millionaires in the past, it can trigger one of four jackpots (Mega, Major, Minor or Mini). To get the feature, you need a mystery symbol turning into a jackpot wild, and then you go to a wheel which spins to reveal the prize.
Summary
Fortunium Gold: Mega Moolah is a good addition to the jackpot network, as it adds new graphics and features to a category that was starting to become stale. On its own, the game offers little in the way of its own rewards, and the RTP is low because of the jackpot, but luckily there is that big prize to make it all better.
