Red Hot Luck is a brand-new game so I didn’t have a chance to really put it to the test. I was able to test it before it is released, and have had few fast sessions. Base play wasn’t too exciting for me and the bonus round took some getting used to. But the bonus buys seemed to do the trick for me. In one buy I managed to land a hefty 500x the stake payout. I know that this is just a fragment of what the game can pay, but it’s enough to keep me interested and make me come back for more. I hope one of my next sessions will yield much better results.

 

Bonus Features and Payouts

I already said that to land a win on the reels you need 5 or more matching symbols, connected horizontally or vertically. When this happens the Tumble Feature comes into play. The winning symbols get removed from the screen, the rest of them drop to the bottom and new ones land from the top in the empty spaces. So far, nothing out of the ordinary.

But this is where the new Power Pays feature comes into action. Instead of the winning symbols to award a win, like in most other slots, they award points. Each symbol will award a number of points based on the number of winning symbols that are on the screen. The more points you get the higher the payout is. The lowest win is for 50 points at 0.2x the stake, while the highest is for 10,000 points at 100x the stake.

Free Spins Bonus

The scatter symbol in Red Hot Luck is the Star. Each scatter can land with or without a random multiplier attached. The multiplier can range from x2 all the way up to x500. It will multiply the total win from the Power Pay spin, once all tumbles are complete. If more than one scatter with a multiplier end up on the screen their values are added together. This is actually quite common from what I had a chance to see, as the scatters don’t get removed between tumbles.

When 4 or more scatters are on the screen you get 10 free spins. In the feature, you want to land as many scatters as possible. Every multiplier that comes attached is added to the total multiplier meter on the left side of the reels. When a scatter lands on a winning spin its value and the value from the total multiplier are calculated for that spin. If you land another set of 4 scatters in the feature you get 5 extra free spins.

Since Red Hot Luck uses a new feature it’s not easy to compare it to other slots. But with the multipliers in the feature, it does remind me of Gates of Olympus and Starlight Princess.
